9. Please document your observations for the first two hours:
I had contacted the resort during the week to remind them of our arrival. They spread the word and we had quite a crowd waiting for us to arrive. We issued 45 jackets within the first 2 hours
10. Please document your observations for the balance of the day's operations:
Trailering the boat to the site was a good move as 3-4 hours would have been spent in water transit. Location is unique as one of the very few in the lower Sacramento. There are no popular anchorages in the area and most boaters use the ramp for fishing and water skiing access. On Saturday, a group of 30 PWCs launched just as we were setting up took off and disappeared and then returned after we had left. Throughout both days a steady stream of boaters either launched or recovered at the ramp. This afforded us with a great opportunity to introduce them to the program. We never launched the boat, instead we used it as a billboard. Based on the type of boating in the area it was best to stay ashore - reaching far greater numbers.
Adult and child jackets pledged out - 62
Sospenders were again a 2:1 favorite.
Koozies and Ts were, as usual, a great lead into the program introduction. Staff of three was just fine for shore operations.
11. Time of arrival at boat slip: 3:45 p.m.
