5. During the day's operation, did you observe any children (12 and under) not wearing life jackets while onboard a boat? If so, approximately how many?
Yes, two boats obviously together, had aproximatly 6 children aboard and none had jackets or harnesses on. Boats were under 20 feet and no enclosed cabin.

6. During the day's operation, approximately how many powerboats did you interact with? 22 powerboats.

7. During the day's operation, approximately how many jetskis (personal watercraft) did you interact with? None

8. During the day's operation, approximately how many non-powered boats (canoes, kayaks, and rafts) did you interact with? None, this was not an area where these craft would be used.

9. Please document your observations for the first two hours:
On arrival there was a crowd of boaters who heard about the program and were anxious to receive their jackets. We pledged 48 jackets in the first 90 minutes.

10. Please document your observations for the balance of the day's operations:
Secured at 3:00 p.m. after "running out" of jackets.
Pledged out 76 adult and child jackets for the day.

As Saturday -- a steady stream of launching and recovering boaters.
One group of "pro" water skiers were contacted and although observed over 20 minutes not wearing jackets while returning to the ramp- insisted that they ALWAYS wear their jackets. When offered an alternative to the ski vests when they are not skiing they were incensed that we would even offer them such a thing. A number of people thought that there was something wrong with the jackets because we were giving them away! Again the SOS product was the favorite -- we “ran out" of them and only offered the belt packs after a while on both days.
