9. Please document your observations for the first two hours:
The first two hours were quite insane. This resort was difficult to locate and after many frustrating turns we arrived 45 minutes later than planned arriving at 10:15. (We left Sacramento towing at 7:30) Marina operators launched us and I decided to just have the boat along the dock (set aside for us by the marina) and had a table out on the dock next to the boat. Having the table in the ramp area, as is more common, would not work safely due to the very busy ramp access area. The word is out, the marina had calls all week long about when we were to arrive and other details, on arrival there were over 20 people waiting for us. Within the first 90 minutes we pledged out 80+ child and adult jackets. We passed on our demo units (naturally repacked). We were out of stock. After that we spoke with boaters and handed out Ts and Koozies.
10. Please document your observations for the balance of the day's operations:
After 90 minutes we were out of stock. After that we spoke with boaters about the program and handed out Ts and Koozies. Lots of boaters were very interested and said they would come back on Sunday. AND THEY DID!
We were right on the dock where the boats launched – a captive audience while they waited to power out or get a tow out. It was a NO EXCUSE not to get a jacket location.
Gloria Sandoval and photographer were on-site for the "event." Boat was out with Gloria and CalB&W photographer for photo ops after we ran out of jackets. As we were preparing to leave, reporter and photographer arrived it went out again. Picked up stock at storage on the way back to Sacramento.
11. Time of arrival at boat slip: 3:45 p.m.
